These 11 perennials are tough, reliable and beautiful.

Joe Hamm’s daffodil garden in Washington County is the greatest collection of blooming daffodils I’ve ever seen.Joe’s goal is all about preservation and as part of his work is offering some of his rare varieties for sale.
I order some every year and have them planted in my vegetable garden, so I can enjoy their beauty each spring.

While traveling through Arizona from the Grand Canyon to Zion National Park we stopped at the Kaibab Plateau Visitor Center in Jacob Lake, Arizona.
There was a wonderful surprise for us there, as hummingbirds were having a feeding frenzy at two feeders outside of the center.
These were identified for me as Broad-tailed and Rufous hummingbirds.
I haven't see so many hummingbirds since Costa Rica.

This week I travel to Rankin to see the Carrie Furnace National Historic Landmark and get a tour of the Iron Garden. It's a unique, wild garden where two blast furnaces once stood.I'm answering a question about what we should NOT grow for ticks, and showing a perennial which blooms from April to November.
