SUNDAY: Volunteers from the 10.27 Healing Partnership collaborate with Shanksville locals to dedicate memorial garden at Flight 93 Memorial
The volunteer event is part of a series of activities in commemoration of the October 27, 2018 antisemitic attack.
Pittsburgh, Pa. (October 27, 2024) – In collaboration with the Shanksville community, the 10.27 Healing Partnership is holding a volunteer event to complete and dedicate a new section of the Remember Me Rose Garden, which is a tribute to the heroic individuals killed on the United Airlines Flight 93 on Sept. 11th, 2001. The “Kavod Garden”, which is Hebrew for “glory,” “respect,” and “honor”, will be the Jewish community’s tribute to the passengers onboard Flight 93 and will be a place of reflection and peace for visitors of all faiths. This volunteer activity is one of several being held this weekend to commemorate 6 years since the Oct. 27, 2018 antisemitic attack at the Tree of Life synagogue.

The 10.27 Healing Partnership is the coordinating agency for the community’s response to the October 27, 2018 synagogue mass shooting in Pittsburgh, Pa. Our mission is to foster a sense of community well-being by providing opportunities for reflection, support, and connection for individuals and their loved ones impacted by the October 2018 attack and others who experience hate-induced trauma.
