Christy Wilhelmi's new book "Garden Variety: A Novel" is unique and wonderful

I met Christy Wilhelmi several years ago on a bus in Pasadena, California.

We were both attending the GardenComm annual symposium and struck up a conversation.

I learned a lot from her about drought conditions in the west and used the information for this story when I worked for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

She's founded Gardennerd with a great website here.

Her new book, "Garden Variety: A Novel," is a fictional account of life in a community garden. After years of writing great "how to" books for gardeners, Wilhelmi has also hit a home run with this fabulous, unique title.
