I've had to find a way to detract them. We have a squirrel baffle, but those smart raccoons have found a way around it! I will try the Caspacin pepper sprinkled in to try to detract them. The flowers are remarkable on the bush, but also super easy to use in arrangements, their parchment blooms reviving summer memories in winter. I cut and gather the heads when they start to dry, tie the ends with twine and hang them in my garage till the leaves of the shrub drop.
